Chances are you’re here for one of two reasons.
“Luke’s talk at New Life Academy was exactly what the students needed to hear! He is an engaging speaker who speaks to the needs of your students.”
-John Anderson, New Life Church
1) Someone you know recommended me as a speaker
In that case, they’re right. I would be a good fit for your next event or gathering. Or are you calling your friend a liar? I mean, they’d know best, right? Yes. Of course they would. So rather than questioning your friendship with him or her, let’s talk about your speaking needs. Your friend is smart, listen to them.
2) You don’t know me but you need a speaker
So here you are, trying to decide from a few paragraphs on some random website whether or not I’m a good fit for your gathering/event/retreat/camp. That’s hard, and I’ve been there. Let me see if I can help. Here’s a bit about who I am as a speaker.
I’m a storyteller.
Stories are the most effective way to make ideas stick. Long after bulletpoints have faded and the tweetable moments have passed, a story stays. I love to tell stories from my life, retell stories from scripture, and share inspiring stories I’ve picked up along the way. Stories matter, and good stories draw out good thoughts in the listener.
I’m Bible-based and hope-driven.
It doesn’t really matter what I think about a topic, what matters is the Bible’s perspective on how we should live. Good Bible study fuels good messages, so every talk I give is rooted in scripture. Because of this, every message has a distinct theme of hope. The whole Bible is a story of the hope we have because God’s on a rescue mission.
I’ve spoken to big groups and little groups. Middle-schoolers, high-school gatherings, and college events. I’ve taught adults, teens, and children in almost any situation you can imagine, from large assembly halls to tin-roofed shacks. I promise no matter how odd or specific your speaking needs might be, I’m up for figuring out how to make it work.
I love to talk about lots of Jesus stuff, but my favorite things to share about are:
- Not worrying
- Peace in difficult times
- Following God’s call
- The brokenness of the world
- God’s plan to rescue us
- Living a life of purpose
I also train parents and youth workers about:
- Parenting in the Digital Age
- Helping Teens in Crisis
- Creating A Culture of Servanthood
- and a whole lot more…
So, that’s a little bit about me. Actually, it’s alot-a-bit, so to sum up: I love God and I love talking about him. I’d love to get to know you and your group and, if I can help, I’d love to speak to them. Please feel free to contact me by clicking the button below:
